You know that feeling that you get when you know something is coming around the corner? The feeling of not being able to sleep because you’re either too excited or frightened for what tomorrow may bring? Yeah, well then we’re on the same page.
College…. that seven letter, two syllable word that determines your future, well for some of us. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic about going to college…. yet I’m not.
I mean come on! I’m leaving home, permanently for a while, that’s mind boggling! No more cooked meals when I come home, not that I had that everyday, but still. No more loud family members to bother you, well that’s actually a good thing. Okay, so maybe the things that I’m highlighting aren’t striking a good argument, but that’s not the point. The point is that all of those littles things that made your house a home will be just that, at home.
….But, hey Keiva what about the happy side?
Guys, this time is for you! Literally, you have no one to baby you, cook for you, get your groceries, etc., so it’s time to put your independence to the test! College is where you discover yourself, make life-long friends, and even if you’re fortunate enough find your one true love. This big new place is now your home, so embrace it! Make the best of it! Let those long nights and early mornings doing scholarships and applications not go to waste, but most of all have fun!
I’ve heard college years are the best years of your life, so why not try it?
