Cut off Year

It’s great to be back on my glorious blog speaking to all of you, but can we be real for a second.

Do you have people in your life that will go above and beyond to get you what you need no matter what?

You don’t have to answer that yet, actually don’t answer it yet. Hold your thought, we’ll come back to it.

In church today, my pastor’s grandson preached and he said, “2017 is the year to get cut off.” Now wow, before you jump the gun and think he’s “throwing shade” let me say it in a different way.

In the Gospel of Mark chapter 2, there was a man. He was paralyzed and in need of a blessing, but had no way to get to God. So 4 parametrics put him on a stretcher and brought him to where Jesus  was, yet they still could not get him close enough to get his healing. However, that didn’t stop them, no they were so determined to get this man his blessing that they literally tore the roof off the building and placed the man at Jesus’ feet. From there of course there were people who had thing to say, but that did not stop that man from getting his healing.

Now this brings us back to the question at hand..

Do you have people in your life that will go above and beyond to get you what you need no matter what?

Can you honestly say that you have friends that will tear a roof off for you? If your answer is no or I’m not sure, then 2017 is your year to cut some people off.

Cutting people off doesn’t make you heartless nor does it make you a bad person. Cutting people off simply is saying that you need to move some people out of your life to make room for others. Now I’m not saying drop your whole circle and go jump to another one. No! I’m telling you that if you can’t say without a shadow of doubt that your friends will drop, stop, and roll for you, then you need new friends.

When food in your refrigerator expires, you don’t have a full on debate if you want to throw it out or not. Same things goes with your life. Why stock your refrigerator with fresh food if you’re going to hold onto expired friendships? People grow apart, it’s okay, but it has to be your decision to say if you want to be stuck in this place forever or if you want to move forward.

So start now. Ask yourself, will my friends stop at nothing for me? You never know, maybe 2017 really is your year to cut some lose ends.

Take it or leave it,
